Airframes Alaska 3 Place PA-18 Fuselage

ID: 4348871
Division: AA LLC
Department: Fuselages

Availability: Currently Unavailable

The 3 Place Piper Cub fuselage is 13" wider but only 16 lbs heavier than the standard Airframes Alaska PA-18 frame. That extended width makes room enough for two passengers to sit comfortably behind the pilot.

No STC currently exists stateside, so Airframes Alaska is paving the way through the FAA to get this unique design fully certified. Once approved (date TBD), this fuselage will be the first and only STC'd three-seater Cub airframe available in the U.S.

Finishing Note: Fuselages are shipped with the options of bare metal, prime powder coated, 1-color powder coated, or 2-color powder coated. We use an extensive FAA approved and FAA audited powder-coating process to ensure a strong and durable finish.

Shipping Note: The website cannot quote shipping on PA-18 fuselages. We put every fuselage shipment out to bid in an effort to achieve the best price for our customers. Fuselages are shipped in either a crate or on a skid with metal roll bars. The skid is lighter and usually results in a better shipping quote. The crate, however, offers more protection. The decision comes down to carrier requirements and the distance the frame needs to travel. Shipping estimates vary.

As part of the development and testing of the 3 Place fuselage, the AK Skunkworx division of Airframes Alaska built a complete experimental 3 Place PA-18. See it fly:
